Exploring Public Space in Winter Through the Eyes of Children and Youth
We’re excited to invite you to the next What’s That Green? and Shift plus Space Collective meet-up in Vienna! This time, we’ll explore how children and young people experience public spaces, especially in winter.
How does the city feel when you’re 3, 13, or 17 years old? What do you notice? What barriers do you face? What makes a place feel welcoming? And how can public spaces become greener and more inclusive in the cold months?
To guide us, Space+Shift Collective will host a hands-on workshop inspired by their City Safari method, followed by a discussion with WTG? local team. Participants will be invited to look at Estherházypark from different youth perspectives using playful tools.Together, we’ll walk, observe, and reflect on winter use of public spaces and discuss how they can better support community life, play, comfort and seasonal resilience.
Date: 31 January
Time: 14:00
Location: Estherházypark, Vienna*
Open to: anyone curious about child-friendly cities and winter spaces.
